Listvyazhnaya coal mine restores infrastructure, mine workings

NOVOSIBIRSK/KEMEROVO, Nov 15 (PRIME) -- The Kemerovo Region’s coal mine Listvyazhnaya has restored the workings and infrastructure after a November 2021 methane blast, the Siberian Federal District directorate of the Prosecutor General’s Office said in a statement on Tuesday.

“Measures for localization of the consequences of the accident and for recovery of the mine workings were fulfilled, while infrastructure was upgraded in compliance with all the existing technical regulations,” the directorate said summarizing the results of multiple inspections of the mine.

The blast killed 51 people and over 20 criminal cases were launched after it.

In April 2022, the Federal Mineral Resources Agency restricted the rights of Listvyazhnaya to use the depths until the violations that threaten the lives and health of people are eliminated. In September, a representative of the service said that it had received new design documentation necessary for the mine to restart mining.
